Roz to help Holly in ‘Emmerdale’ twist

Roz will soon start playing a new role in Holly Barton’s drugs storyline.

Earlier this year, viewers saw the actress’s alter ego sparking Holly’s current problems by providing her with illegal substances - and it wasn’t long until she was hooked.

However, in a surprise turnaround, Roz will begin trying to help Holly (Sophie Powles) as her family aims to get her off drugs for good.

Speaking of her Emmerdale storyline, Porter told Holy Soap: “I’ve not been in it for a while. Holly’s gone off to do her own thing, and has got involved in deeper and darker stuff.

“I’ll come back soon, not dealing the drugs but trying to help. She needs a lot of help.”

In the meantime, Holly’s storyline will take a new twist next week when her parents John and Moira find her inhaling heroin.

Corrie casts David Platt’s new girlfriend Actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter will take on the role of David’s (Jack P. Shepherd) new love interest Zoe, with whom he becomes friendly while washing her hair at his grandma Audrey’s (Sue Nicholls) salon. In the hope of evoking jealousy in his ex-girlfriend Tina (Michelle Keegan), David turns up with his new female companion at Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Tina’s housewarming party. Speaking to the soap’s official website, Porter said of her casting: “I’m absolutely delighted. Me and my family have been lifelong Corrie fans and - if [it’s] possible - I think my mum is even more excited than I am! She added: “I can’t wait to start working with Jack [P. FORMER Corrie babe Kirsty Leigh Porter is poised to rock Emmerdale - as the village COCAINE dealer.

The actress - who starred in the rival soap as David Platt’s girlfriend Zoe - will play a teenage tearaway called Roz who is pals with Holly Barton (Sophie Powles) in the ITV1 soap.

A source said: “Teen drug-dealing in Emmerdale might seem unthinkable but drugs are a problem in villages too.

“The storyline will be handled responsibly and the outcome will show the damage that drugs do, especially to teenagers.”

Some more catching up on the 2010 Inside Soap Awards, here we have pretty little Kirsty-Leigh Porter in her one-shoulder animal print dress!

The Corrie turned Emmerdale actress wore a very identifiable dress, as the collection was just profiled on the site here a couple of weeks ago! It is indeed from Forever Unique - part of the new Alex Gerrard collection - check out the launch party in Liverpool here. Kirsty is wearing the Jemima dress, a lovely one shoulder animal print dress, and it’s not too visible in these photos but the ruffle   goes across the back as well.
